So what’s the big deal?!
Even if your realtor gives you a list of home inspector make sure to interview each inspector and then even look for your own. Buying real estate is difficult and timely, don’t rely on someone else to make your investment decision – do your own leg work and know that your investment will not crumble under your feet when you cross the threshold for the first time.
The independent inspectors are working for you, the consumer. As a future homeowner you want to know everything about that house. Everything from the foundation it sits on, all the mechanical systems in between and then to top it off at the roof. An independent inspector isn’t there to write a “soft” report that will not identify all the defects. An independent will tell you the good with the bad. I mean come on, you’re buying a huge investment, in many cases this investment can be several million dollars. Who wouldn’t want to know their investment before taking the plunge?
In the current market and the increasing number of foreclosures in the
